I've decided to move my blog to a more user-friendly platform (although, I'm not so sure how easy it is). I do know that readers can now post comments, etc). So come on over and take a look. The site is
www.jacksonandanna.blogspot.com and I will link it as many places as I possibly can on this site!

I didn't realize how long it's been since I've written on this thing. I've been semi-obsessed with finding our honeymoon spot and I think I've found it...Now we just need to figure out if we want to take out a second mortgage to pay for it. I mean look at this place (click on the pretty picture to go to the website):
It's totally off the beaten path, which is what we both want. We're not really looking for a big resort with tons of little kids running around, peeing in the pool, screaming at the top of their lungs, while the parents sit at the pool bar drinking $12 Margaritas. We want to drink our
$12 Margaritas in peace. Which reminds me...I need to renew my Passport or Anna will be vacationing alone, while I sit in a windlowless room in the Belize City Airport. Can you imagine what that would be like?
I hope everyone has a good weekend. We're heading to the beach with a few friends and Rocco the dog. We'll pick back up on the wedding planning next week and it's going to heat up as
MOG (Anne Quarles) comes roaring into town on August 10th to check our the
rehearsal dinner spot, taste cakes, look at flowers and do whatever else she can in a 24 hour time period.

We went to Milltown last night, just to make sure it belonged on our
Top 10 Local Restaurants list...It does. I love their french fries. I ate mine and Anna's, which she was grateful for, because I think she likes them more then I do.
On Sunday, Anna and I went to Macy's to begin the process of registering. I think we spent around 3 hours or so going through the store with a little scanner, which allowed us to scan a barcode and have it automatically loaded onto our registry site. We're now in the process of editing it because I made a decision to add "sets' to everything I scanned. Basically, if you scan a pilsner glass, the screen would say, "Would you like to inlude the Bar Set with the Pilsner glass"? Of course, I said yes. Little did I know it added tons of other types of glasses, which we want nothing to do with. I got a little scan happy, big deal.
I've been searching for honeymoon sites. We've decided to take a 12-14 day honeymoon. We're thinking Central American coast, Mexican coast or somewhere in the Caribbean.
Does anyone have ideas?

There is no rest for Anna. She's heading back to Hillsborough to view more flowers, this time while they are preparing for a wedding. To feel productive, I mowed the grass and loaded the dishwasher. Other then that, our wedding planning has been pretty low key the last few days. We really want to get a slide show up on the site and hopefully can get that done tomorrow.

OK, band has confirmed and they're actually going to be playing at all our events that weekend, including the Rehearsal Dinner, Ceremony and Reception as well as the cocktail hours that will occur before the Rehearsal Dinner and Reception. I guess now is a good time to take requests for songs!!! Send them my way.
I've also found out a bit of info on our photographer. She works with
Tamara Lackey Photography. Her name is Rachel Garrison and is from the area. In fact, I think I played soccer with her husband who is either our age or a year older. I'm definitely going to do some digging into that. Maybe we can get a discount.

I'm starting to get the feeling that when I'm not involved in the decision making process, things happen a lot quicker. Anna, in the last 2 days, has booked our band for the wedding reception AND booked our photographer! To recap, we saw the band Saturday night at a cigar bar called
Amra's and came away very impressed. The band name is
Cafe Mars and they play some great cover stuff. Check out their site to hear some of their music, but as Anna can attest, it doesn't do them justice and was apparently recorded several years ago. Hopefully we'll have the opportunity to see them a few more times and we'll let you know when/where they are playing.
I don't know too much about the photographer, so I'll pass that info along when I get it.

So we've heard that many of
your favorite local restaurants haven't made
OUR Top 10 Local Restaurants list. Because of this Anna and I will be postponing all wedding plans until we can create the "perfect list". So be sure to check the
list often for updates.

Today was a pretty busy day full of flowers in Hillsborough and live music in Raleigh.
Very Very Good Girl (Anna),
SportsBizPro and MOB (Mother of Bride) took the short trip to
Eurosport's hometown of Hillsborough, NC to visit The Flower Patch. If I can speak honestly, which I can since it's my lil' blog...I think this was my first and last flower search. I think from now on, I will delegate that responsbility to Anna, MOB and MOG (Mother of Groom), when available.
We've been aggressively searching for wedding bands because the last thing we want is some kind of
Old School wedding experience ( I love youtube). On our quest, we went out to Raleigh, which is something that I NEVER do. I always get lost, there's traffic and really, there's just not a reason. Our prospective weddding band was playing at a new cigar bar, which was a bit more "New York City" then we're all used to. The group we were with were wearing shorts, sandals and polos, which, aparrently, wasn't the crowd this place was going after. But since it was new, the 18 year old bouncer dressed in a grey pin stripe suit politely said "we'll let you in this time, but in the future to drink our $10 cosmopolitans and our $5.00 Bud Lights, you need to wear pants and closed shoes." Thanks Boss.
Anway, the band turned out to be really good...the dance floor was rockin' and everyone was having a really good time. I don't want to jinx it because we haven't gotten a confirmation back from them yet, but they are our # 1 choice, so much so that Anna emailed their manager at 2 a.m. to tell them "we're in".
The best part of the night wasn't the band, it was that
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts that was open until 2 a.m. Nothing like a warm doughnut right-off the conveyor belt for the 30 minute drive home. I'm not kidding.
