We first met at Hollow Rock Swim Club in 1994 - the summer before 9th grade. A mutual friend/social butterfly, Katie Ryan, introduced us and despite Anna's inability to actually see Jeb (wasn't wearing contacts in the pool) we hit it off immediately.
High school passed as eventfully, or uneventfully, as high school tends to. Jeb passed the time playing basketball & other sports while beginning his tradition of dating younger women. Anna lived dangerously: alto saxophonist in the band, presiding over the honor council and playing soccer in her free time. We became better friends over those 4 years, helping each other through a certain teacher's English class and bonding during our endless extended free periods senior year with Jason Ko.
After graduating we both headed off to Pennsylvania; Anna to Bucknell University and Jeb to Franklin & Marshall College. Our schools were less than 2 hours away which allowed for occasional visits during formals and sporting events. When our significant others, at the time, were unavailable for mixers or formals we would rely upon each other as a "safe" date. Little did we know...
After Jeb's brief time down under in Australia and Anna's flirtation with medical school, we both found ourselves back in Durham.
Then there was Jackson & Anna...
